About Me
My name is Tom Hancocks. I am a freelance software developer and based in the English
Seaside Resort of Scarborough, working from the newly renovated Woodend Creative Workplace,
formerly the Woodend Museum. You can see photos of the Woodend Creative Workplace by
clicking here.
I have been developing software for almost 11 years, and although much of my early software
was experimental at best, since leaving school I have been honing and expanding my skills.
I know how to use a plethora of programming languages but am fluent in Objective-C, PHP
and REALbasic. My CV lists the languages I have had experience with.
The training I have had in Computing and I.T includes Network Communications, Basic Ergonomics,
Applications Software Development, Database and Web Application Design, Low Level Programming
(68000 Motorola Assembly Language, which is kind of obsolete but has provided me with a foundation
to assembler langauges) as well as a selection of other areas.
One of my major projects is the application TuneBar, which to date has had over 200,000 downloads,
and large number of sales. It has been reviewed in the MacFormat magazine (Issue 193) receiving
4 out of 5 stars, included in the "We're Excited About..." article of iCreate Magazine (Issue 51)
as well as generating thousands of emails containing user feedback.
I have worked for numerous people over the internet, each of whom I keep in touch with regularly for
further work or joint ventures.
